Cumin seeds have a strong spicy flavour, not unlike fennel. Egyptians used to put it in their bread to make it more digestible.
Cumin has antispasmodic properties (relieves muscular spasms, stomachic and carminative properties (expels intestinal gas). It is recommended for dyspepsia. It tones the heart and nervous system.
