The essential oil of Oregano is rich in thymol. As do all the members of the aromatic labiate family to which it belongs (Lavender, majoram, sage, and rosemary) it possesses many properties. HOMMES, in 1912 laid out the differences between oregano and marjoram as they are sometimes confused.
Oregano is the number one antiseptic essential oil. It is indicated for all infectious states, chronic bronchitis, coughs, irritations, pulmonary tuberculosis, asthma and general fatigue.
