Probably the best known and most used of the aromatic plants. Greek and Romans considered it the symbol of love and death and used in their religious ceremonies and feasts. It was also widely used in ancient Egypt and traces have been found in some of the Pharaoh’s tombs.
A regenerator of the liver, it is indicated for general fatigue, overwork, congestion of the liver and of the bladder, cirrhosis, arteriosclerosis, diarrhoea, angina. It is also a diuretic and tonic and general cardiac tonic.
